A LITTLE HISTORY
The railroad bridges at Buffalo Creek, Harrison Run,Short Creek and Cross Creek were constructed for Panhandle Railroad Company's first Steubenville to Wheeling run, February24,1878.

FOOTTRACKS--Small version of FOOTPRINTS
One length of our 1878 railroad track remains on our trail with a bypass to the west, be careful of the rails especially when wet. We are working with the contractor for the signage on the trail. The barriers(poles) to stop unauthorized vehicular traffic are in place and painted, so look for them at crossings north of Smith Oil and north of E-Z Pools.
We now have an offical Brooke Pioneer Trail Parking Lot, located between Buffalo Creek and Smith Oil. We share the lot with Brooke County schoolbus drivers and employees of Smith Oil. Any questions contact us at lenny@stratuswave.net or 304-737-0506.
